God Speaking To the Man Christ Jesus?

YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE WORD THROUGH LENSE OF ONE GOD (3:00)

* Mark 12: 28-32, Matthew 22: 35-46, Deuteronomy 6: 4
-The greatest commandment is that the LORD is ONE God

HOW WAS GOD SPEAKING TO JESUS IN THE BEGINNING OF TIME AND JESUS SPEAKING TO GOD? (4:55)

* Genesis 1: 26

-God spoke to the man Christ Jesus OUTSIDE of time during the creation of man
-Being that God created time, he is not bound by time or physics or natural law as we perceive it

* John 8: 52-59
-Jesus tells the Jews “before Abraham was, I am”
-God is not bound by time; He lives in eternity

HOW COULD JESUS PRAY TO GOD IN THE GARDEN? Evidence of the Trinity??(7:10)

* Matthew 26: 38, 39
* Luke 22: 41, 42
-The man Jesus prays to God
-IF there is a trinity and Jesus is the 2nd God…why is he praying?
-An omnipotent God doesn’t need to pray to another omnipotent God for permission to do things
-If the two within the Godhead are co-equal then both wills are valid and one won’t submit to other; the wills of the 2 Gods would mirror one another…but this is simply NOT the case

* John 1: 1-14
* Hebrews 4: 14, 15
* Isaiah 45: 6
-The Man Christ Jesus was authentically man but had the Spirit of God living in him; the Spirit and the flesh
-If Jesus was not fully man he would not be an adequate sacrifice for all mankind
-Jesus is 1 of 1 and there never was and never will be another like Him

HOW CAN ONE HAVE A HUMAN SPIRIT AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD AT THE SAME TIME? (10:00)

* Luke 23: 46
-Jesus was authentically human and authentically God at the same time
-He had a human spirit and the Spirit of God I’m him at the same time
-In a similar way, we that are filled with the Holy Ghost have the spirit of God living inside us, but we also have our human spirit at the same time

THE MAN CHIRST JESUS PRAYS ON THE CROSS (11:55)

* Matthew 27:46
-Jesus cries out to God saying “why hast thou forsaken me?”
-How can Jesus be the 2nd God if he prays to the 1st God and calls that person God?
-This is the Spirit of God departing from the body of the man Jesus as he dies on the cross

SON = INCARNATION (13:10)

* John 1: 1-14
-There was no son before Jesus was born, there was the Word

* Hebrews 1: 1-5
-Jesus wasn’t the eternal son, he was the begotten son, the ONLY begotten of the Father

* Revelation 13: 8
-God knew Jesus was to come from the creation of the world. In the beginning the Word was with God

GOD SPEAKING TO JESUS IN THE BEGINNING OF CREATION (cont’d) (15:30)

* Genesis 1: 26
-God was speaking to the man Jesus outside of time

* Psalms 2: 1, 2
-The word “anointed” is the Messiah which is Jesus Christ
-This is the Spirit of God and the man Christ Jesus; in whom prophetically that Spirit would dwell

* Psalms 2: 7
-The son in this verse is Jesus Christ
-This is God speaking prophetically to Jesus outside of time

* Psalms 110, Matthew 22: 44
-Both of these verses refer to Jesus
-The psalm of David speaks of Jesus prophetically and Jesus is quoting the psalmist in Matthew to the Jews showing that Jesus is the father and the son at the same time
-God is not bound by time as we are

* Colossians 1: 17, John 1:
-Jesus is before all things
-The Word was with God at the beginning; Jesus is the Word

THERE IS NONE LIKE GOD

-In that there is none like God, there can be no other Gods like him

* Colossians 1: 15-20
-Jesus is the expressed image of the invisible God; He is the one true God
-He was before all things and by him all things come to exist
-All creation declares the glory and the oneness of God and all things are made in the image of God
